ISRO Successfully Demonstrate Free-Space Quantum Communication India
ISRO makes a breakthrough demonstration of free-space Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) over 300 m On 22 March, ISRO Successfully makes a breakthrough demonstration of free-space Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) over 300 m. MECHANISM Many Important and Key technology was grown to accomplish goal, which includes the use of indigenously developed NAVIC receiver for time synchronization between the transmitter. What Is Quantum Key Distribution? Quantum key distribution (QKD) is a secure communication method which implements a cryptographic protocol involving components of quantum mechanics. It enables two parties to produce a shared random secret key known only to them, which can then be used to encrypt and decrypt messages. Experiment This Free-Space QKD was perform at Space Application Center (SAC) in Ahmedabad, between two buildings within the ISRO capamus of 300 m. It was Preform at night in order to conform that there is no interference of sunlight. Image Credit ISRO USES Its a Sat
